Why Use Hashtags Anyways?!

How Do I “Do” Hashtags?

Hashtags function like “labels” to your posts or photos. They allow your Hagerty Drivers Club chapter members (and you!) to search the Facebook group for posts about specific topics or specific events. Hashtags are a great way to create a visual archive of all your fun HDC memories—and benefit those who are seeking specific car-related or HDC info!

First, determine a simple, catchy, and obvious “label” for your post—usually a single word or phrase (i.e.,“Mustang” or “Cars and Coffee” or “Happy Hagerty Holidays”). Then add the number/pound sign in front of that word or phrase. Note: if you’re using a phrase, run all the words together to make sure they all get included as one hashtag!

Try to Use 3-5 Hashtags Per Post

 ALWAYS include the name of your HDC chapter.

Keep other hashtags relevant to your event and to automotive.

If your hashtag is a phrase, use capital letters to mark distinct words in the phrase.
