Any time! Just choose an indoor/outdoor location based on the weather.

Weekend mornings are usually best for lingering over a cuppa
Partner with a local café/coffee shop—they provide a discount on Hagerty Drivers Club member orders or free “joe-to-go” in exchange for publicity and advertising at your event!
Verify with management/owners to ensure they’re onboard with parking arrangements, if you plan for HDC members to display their cars
If planning to stay indoors, choose a café or coffee shop with enough room for all (and verify with the venue whether you need large group reservations)

Rev & Relax Picnic
Where
A well-known park lawn, park pavilion, or picnic area in your city—or someone’s backyard!
When
Whenever there’s good weather—and consider a “plan B,” just in case!

Make it a potluck, or invite everyone to BYOM (Bring Your Own Meal)
Consider a fun theme—like “Cruisin’ with Charcuterie” with a charcuterie board potluck or “Sedan Sandwich Superstar” with a contest for who can make the yummiest sandwich

Where

When
Wind down on a Thursday or a Friday night…or end the weekend relaxed on a Sunday afternoon.

Project or play a classic film like Days of Thunder, Gone in 60 Seconds, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Thelma and Louise, Smokey and the Bandit, Rush, or Baby Driver

Where
A bar in town with plenty of space, great Happy Hour specials, and a good mix of cocktails AND mocktails.
When
Happy Hour (after work, usually ~4-6 PM).
TIPS & INSPIRATION
Verify with management/owners whether a large group reservation is needed
If your venue has tables and chairs, invite attendees to bring card decks or board games!
Be sure to clarify on your invite that drinks and food are “available for purchase”

A local automotive event or a local automotive museum.

Whenever an automotive event is happening nearby; or Friday/weekend open museum hours.

Check to see if Hagerty Drivers Club offers an exclusive access or discount to any events or museums nearby!
Partner with an event or museum—they provide a discount or perk to your HDC members in exchange for attendance/marketing
Make it a game—ask attendees to take a photo of the coolest detail or most interesting fact they find, then post images on Facebook and let people vote for a winner!
Provide a list of nearby restaurants and suggest that attendees find a post-event lunch or dinner buddy!

Where
Zoom, Google Hangouts, or whatever virtual platform works best for you.

Happy Hour (~4-6pm), after work, or a weekend afternoon.
TIPS & INSPIRATION
Sometimes all you need for a fun event is your fav beverage and a handful of Hagerty Drivers Club friends. Keep it simple—even a quick hour to hang out online makes for a great time!
Make it memorable with fun games, like these: (1) Name That Tune: set up a playlist of car-themed songs, play a quick 5-10 second segment of each song, and the person who’s first-to-guess the most wins!

Happy Hagerty Holidays
Where
At your house or the home of another Hagerty Drivers Club member.
When
At the start or end of any holiday season, like Christmas/Hannukah/New Years, “Friendsgiving,” Super Bowl Sunday, etc.
TIPS & INSPIRATION
Invite your HDC friends to wear their seasonal best (or silliest) outfits! Think Super Bowl football team colors, ugly Christmas sweaters, Halloween costumes, or New Year’s cocktail party attire
Invite attendees to bring their favorite holiday treat, Halloween candy, cocktails and mocktails, or seasonal snacks—you could even make it a tasting competition!
Play a fun Spotify playlist of seasonal or party tunes

Trivia Tailgate
Where
A popular local restaurant or bar, your house, or the home of another Hagerty Drivers Club member.
When
An evening or weekend afternoon may be best.
TIPS & INSPIRATION
When the weather’s nice, host in someone’s backyard—make BYOB and BYOS (Bring Your Own Snacks)
If hosting in someone’s home, make it a potluck or even a cook-off, which brings their best chili—two winners, one for trivia, and one for the best pot of chili!
If hosting at a restaurant or bar, verify with management/owners whether you can reserve a back room or need to make a large group reservation
